The SB division (skateboarding division) was founded in 2002 by the Nike company. This also launched the first four Dunk SB low-colorways. In the same year, the Supreme Dunk also saw the light of day and was brought to the shops. Any new releases of this brand were sold out in minutes. First the Dunk-Models developed for the basketball field. But the cult also spilled over the skateboarders.

The year of the dark was in 2020. It launched countless variants. To this end, Nike pursued the approach that there is only a certain number of each model.

How do the Nike Dunk High?

Similar to most sneakers from Nike, you can use the model the same size that you would otherwise also wear with Nike shoes. Depending on the foot structure, you can also take half a size larger or smaller, after all, the sneaker should be comfortable!

How does the Nike Dunk High differ from the Air Jordan 1 high?

At first glance, you can't see that many differences, but there is a lot of noticeable when looking more closely. Let's take a look at the upper material first, here we recognize at the Air Jordan 1 6 leather panels, but only 4, as well as more seams as well at the Nike Dunk High. However, the Nike Dunk High has a larger toe box. We can recognize Nike Branding on the tongue, the day is a little different on the Jordans. Another feature is the Air Jordan Wings-logo, which on the side of the Air Jordan 1s is enthroned.

Why was Nike SB Dunk created?

Nike used the SB label to get into the rapidly growing skateboard market. Nike had previously tried to get into the market with two different companies, but had failed. Anyone who hits Nike under the keyword "Nike Skateboarding" will find a very diverse range.

With the launch of the first Nike Dunk Low SB was introduced to Nike SB in March 2002. The model was changed a little, so that skateboarders in particular felt addressed. A padded insole, a thicker tongue and a new sole with more grip included the changes in the design.

How did Nike SB go on?

For the coming years, Nike worked with the various companies that were connected with skateboarding. These were among the Stüssy, Slam City Skates Store or Diamond Supply. However, the fans temporarily lost interest in the skater brands. This only came up again for collaboration in 2018. Since then, interest has grown steadily again.

In 2005 Nike released the first city pack. It was a series of limited SB Unk Lows. These were exclusively available in four cities in the world. These were Japan, Paris, London and New York. The designer of these shoes was Jeff Staple. He was considered a creator of staple design and Reed Space and also managed to put the SB Dunk Low on its own designer stamp.

Nike manages to trigger a real hype with the limited version of the "Pigeon Dunks". During the release of the shoes, the world understood the extent that Nike had created with his SB Dunks. In skater culture, these shoes are still the concept of skater shoes. Even today, over 35 years later, these shoes are asked as ever. Some of them have become true collectibles. Some of these rarities are sold at immense prices among lovers.

The skater culture has a great influence on the Nike SB Dunks

At the beginning of the 2000s, the skater culture still belonged to a marginal group. But nowadays this has changed massively. Nike has great "fault". Likewise, social media ensure that this hype continues to increase. The sneaker world is growing rapidly. Many sneakers are posted on social media. Above all, the Nike SB Dunks. The fan base of these shoes continues to grow.

Therefore, more and more people are interested in Nike SB Dunks and fans are rising rapidly. The old dunks in particular are getting fewer and more in demand than ever. Thus, the old dunks lead the demand. This led to a real collector's market.

SB Dunks are a work of art in itself

The most famous shoe was Nike SB Dunk Low Paris. This is the best-selling sneaker and was sold for $ 51,950. So far, very few shoes have reached this value.

The value of the Paris Dunk Low is probably only understood when you know that these shoes are extremely limited and have a story. Only 202 pairs were released from the shoe, as well as only sold in Paris and each couple is unique. It is a section of a painted canvas by the French painter Bernard Buffet.
