The success story of Nike can look back on more than 50 years of sportswear and sports shoes. It all started very differently. Originally, Onitsuka Tiger sports shoes were to be marketed under the name "Blue Ribbon Sports" from 1964 onwards. It should not stop there, because since the beginning of the seventies Nike has been successfully selling its products under its own name. It all started with a small university project and 1200 dollars: Middle distance runner Phil Knight and coach Bill Powerman are the Nike-forefathers. As we know today, the choice of the name of the Greek goddess of victory "Nike" turned out to be a good sign of the future, because the small project of two athletes has arrived at the Sportolymp.
