This model was designed by Tinker Hatfield. When the shoe came onto the market, Michael Jordan (previously excreted from basketball) was active at the Birmingham Barons in the small baseball leagues. Hatfield, whichwaiting for Jordan to come backEffected the sneaker and hoped that Jordan would play with him.
The ballistic mesh upper material of the sneaker should make the Air Jordan XI lighter and more durable than earlier models. Further changes were achieved by using a carbon fiber spring in the translucent "frosty" outsole, which gave the shoe a better movement when turning on the square. The highlight and probably the best known feature of the shoe is its tabox made of paint leather.
